Boardworks Searching for European Distributors 0

Boardworks, a 7 year old company recently under new management and SIMA member, is taking their search for a European distributor public. Boardworks hopes that taking their search public will open some doors for them, since they need to find a distributor for their brands in Europe by July 1, 2009.

COO, Bob Rief says:

“We see this as being an excellent opportunity for the right distributor to buck the present economy and inject added life to their existing business.

“Our mission here at Boardworks is to bring to market around the world certain licensed elements of famous surfboard shapers’ collections. We are also a premium construction process so we are looking for people who can sell technology, not just price.

Optimally, we are looking for a distributor who is pan-Europe, or perhaps individual distributors for the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and the Canary Islands. We see Hossegor as being the epicenter of surf in Europe and believe that may be a good home base.

We hope that by taking our search public, we will be able to reach the right contact – ideally a current distributor with retail accounts, a warehouse, salesmen, and a good track record.”

Tax-Deductable?
0

The Personal Health Investment Today Act of 2009 (PHIT), has provisions in it to give up to $2,000 in pre-tax dollars for fitness and other physical activity expenses (but only through using special pre-tax medical accounts). Although you may have to go through some hoops to get the accounts set up, if the bill passes you could have big savings. If you live in a state like New York or California, where the tax is over 7% the savings is well worth it.

There are other sport/activity related provisions in the bill (obviously, this is Congress), but it would be nice to save some money, while improving my health.
