Joel Tudor launches Kook Box surfboard, apparel brand 0

Joel Tudor has placed his passion for surfing directly into a line of surfboards and apparel called KOOK BOX.

The name Kook Box comes from the first fin’d surfboards designed by Tom Blake in 1929 or early 1930. In the early 1930’s the Cigar Box or Kook Box a hollow surfboard/paddleboard was used by U.S. special forces in training exercises and stealth missions. The units trained by a Canadian Doctor and Brazilian Jiu-Jitzu expert later became known as the Navy Seals.

The brand brings together Joel’s passion for surfboard design and experimentation as well as his inspired journey into the study of the martial arts. Apparel and board logos utilize images found in the manuscripts written by the Canadian Doctor.
