After having proven to be a successful concept store in Mall of the Emirates, local owners and operators Al Boom Marine, selected the new Mirdif City Centre as the perfect location for the second Rip Curl store in the region.

Rusty adds Balinese surfer
Mega Semadhi to the team

Rusty is proud to announce the addition of 20-year-old Balinese ripper Mega Semadhi to the surf team. Hailing from Bali’s famed Bukit Peninsula – home to iconic breaks such as Uluwatu, Padang Padang, and Bingin – Mega honed his tuberiding and aerial skills at an early age and has fast become an internationally recognized talent.

“We are very excited to have Mega on board,” said Rusty Indonesia’s Kane Faint. “Mega’s progressive, innovative surfing is the perfect fit for Rusty. I’m looking forward to watching him take his surfing to the next level.”

Carlos Burle Crowned Big
Wave World Tour Champion

Finisterre’s first ambassador, Carlos Burle, was crowned the first Big Wave World Tour Champion this weekend after a non-stop year of tackling the world biggest waves. The overall tour win marks the culmination of an outstanding season in the big wave world that was marked by quality swell that delivered across the big wave locales.

Tom Kay, Finisterre founder remarked, “We have seen Carlos at his best throughout the season. Every week it seems we receive a little message from far away shores of the latest session, consistently pushing the limits of what is imaginable, before jetting off on the promise of a fresh chart and a new swell.”
