SurferToday.com launches global petition for new surfing games 0

SurferToday.com has launched a global petition in order to demand the development of new surfing games for Playstation, Xbox, Wii and PCs.

The petition is available for signing HERE.

The last console surfing game ever to see the shelves was “Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer”.

It was published in the old 16th September 2002.

Seven years after, there’s still no waves from the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii or PC line-up.

What happened? Aren’t there any buyers? Is everyone a “Shoot’Em Up” addicted diehard player?

There is an unexplored market for electronic surfing games and it is definitely easier to simulate water and waves with the 3rd generation console programming.

Look at the skating franchises! There are thousands of Tony Hawk’s episodes and other independent titles.

With snowboarding, the story repeats. There are plenty of titles such as Shaun White’s and SSX franchises.

Where are the surfing games for our Playstation, XBox, Wii and PC’s?

If you would like to take a dive into the past, check the four Playstation 2 surfing games ever published:

Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer (Score: 8 )
Transworld Surf (Score: 7.4)
Sunny Garcia Surfing (Score: 5.9)
Surfing H3O (Score: 4.8)

PETITION

More Surfing Games by the Video Game Industry

Dear Members of the Video Game Industry,
CEO’s, Executive Directors and Creative Developers,

There are more than 25 million surfers worldwide.

Since September 2002, the Video Game Industry has stopped developing surfing games for the Playstation, Xbox, Wii and PC platforms.

We understand that games should generate income and earnings for all the stakeholders.

But it is clearly visible, over the internet forums, that there are a large number of potential surfing game buyers.

We would truly appreciate if your respectable Video Game company consider the announcement of a new surfing game for the several million surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers and bodyboarders from around the world.

Thank You.

Sincerely yours,

On behalf of the petitioners,
