Movistar Peru Classic Back ON for Rounds 2 and 3
LOBITOS, Piura/Peru – Clean two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves are on offer this morning, and with a projection for building swell throughout the day, the Movistar Peru Classic presented by Rip Curl has been called back on, with Round 2 commencing at 8am.
Event No. 5 of 7 on the 2009 ASP Women’s World Tour, the Movistar Peru Classic saw the top seeds dominate Round 1 of competition two days ago, and today’s improved conditions are poised to provide the ideal setting for the world’s best female surfers to do battle.
“As fore, a slight increase in swell has arrived so we will commence Round 2 at 8am,” Richie Porta, ASP Women’s World Tour Head Judge, said. “We plan on moving straight into Round 3 and if the swell continues to increase throughout the day, we will hold the Quarterfinals.”
